Which energy camp are you in right now?

Our work energy isn’t constant - it shifts with seasons, stress levels, rest and whatever else is going on in our lives.

I’ve been thinking about this a lot during this January back-to-work-week but these patterns actually apply all year round.
From the conversations I’ve had, people usually fall into one of four camps:
1) I’m sprinting
Your brain is switched on, decisions come easily and tasks seem to fly off your to-do list. You’re energised, making progress and feeling sharp.
2) I’m strolling
You’re getting things done at a steady, gentle pace. You’re not pushing yourself into overdrive - instead, you’re finding a rhythm that feels sustainable. Consistency over intensity.
3) I’m staggering slightly
You’re taking careful steps, doing the essentials and trying not to overwhelm yourself. The routine feels quite clunky and your brain feels a bit like an old laptop running an outdated operating system.
4) I’m on my back
Some days/weeks/months feel rough. The pace, the expectations, the overflowing inbox are just draining the life out of you. Motivation and enthusiasm are at an all-time low.
We all move through these stages. None of them define you, they’re just a moment in time.
Notice where you are, adjust if you need to and always remember: you’re not trapped, there is always another way.
If you’d like some support working through your current stage, you’re welcome to book a free half hour call with me.
