Try this simple end-of-year practice that brings surprising clarity

As the year winds down, there’s a natural pull to reflect - but most people either skip it entirely or try to cram in a full life audit that feels overwhelming.

So here’s a simpler approach I use with clients, one that creates clarity without the pressure:

One thing to leave behind.

One thing to carry forward.

That’s it.

What’s one thing you need to let go of?

It might be a pattern, a habit, a role you’ve outgrown, a relationship that drains you or a responsibility you’ve been holding onto out of guilt rather than choice.

You don’t need to fix it today - you just need to name it.

And what’s one thing you want to protect next year?

Something that matters deeply, even if you haven’t given it much attention recently. Could be your health, your creativity, your boundaries, your relationships, your sense of purpose or your joy.

Call it out, gently but clearly.

This paired reflection works because it’s quick, grounded and achievable.

It cuts through the noise and points your attention towards the one or two things that will actually shift your experience of next year.

And if you want help turning those two answers into real direction for 2026, feel free to book a free half-hour chat with me.

No pressure or obligation to sign up to anything, just a relaxed chat to see how I can help you.

It’s the perfect time of year to commit to making next year happier than this one.
